On June 14, 2016, the Pennsylvania State Capitol and Members of the House of Representatives, welcomed His Imperial Majesty, King Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi to United States of America.
Gbedu magazine reveals that Speaker of the House, Rep. Mike Turzai and his constituents gave a warm welcome to the Ooni of Ife and Queen Wuraola Zynab-Ogunwusi on their unprecedented visit.
Consequently in Philadephia, The Onirisa, Ojaja II, was given a heroic welcome and he addressed the people citing that he was delighted to be in the midst of fellow brothers as Africa-Americans, Carribeans and a lot of people from Southern America who had gathered together in the state for the “Odunde Festival”.
Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi stated that the largest concentration of the entire black race is a “Nigerian”. Citing that, there are no boundaries between Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, and Ethiopia, as these Africans are living as one big happy family.
The Ojaja II opined that it has been established that all the blacks that were taken out of Africa were taken from two main sources, Nigeria and Ghana. The two sections that most of our fellow brothers who are today some of our fore fathers are majorly from the Yoruba tradition and Yoruba environment. The section in Ghana are part of Oduduwa Son, part of Oduduwa Dynasty, who are known as “Oninana” and the current Chief is Kosehunti living in Ghana and the same for the entire Yoruba region in Nigeria.
The King emphasised that the religion being practised as Orisa religion which is known as Camblola, or Santeria, or Orisa Baptist, is the same concept as it is very popular in the entire South America, United States of America and the Carribean Island.
He said Yoruba shares same thing in common, like; the attire being worn, talking drums being used, Cowries, and the manner of talking to Ancestors.
Oni of Ife, the Ojaja II said he is happy to tell the African-American that the joy of origination is here, and that we are cut out from the same root. However, admonishing all to unite to pursue same course so that unity can reign all over the world.
He stressed that Africa is the oldest continent in the world, the second largest continent in the world and all the wealth is concentrated at the centre; emphasizing that everything, ‘Colour or Race’, started from Africa; which has also been proven by scientists.
Oba Ogunwusi concluded that Africa is home to all descent in joy, source, and home; he admonished that all should work together in Peace and Harmony through Unity, thereby, making African-Americans one and forever be one at the centre.
