Kenyan Socialite Huddah Munroe Attacks Actress Mercy Aigbe

By
Kenya socialite and Kim Kardashian wannabe, Huddah Munroe makes no pretenses about her hustle for the spotlight and the money. Perceived by many as the type of girl who would do anything for fame and money, the ex-Big Brother Africa contestant and one-time rumoured lover of Starboy boss Wizkid, Huddah comes across as someone whose lifestyle is at variance with African culture and one who shouldn’t be taken seriously on that count. Her message on domestic violence however defies that pattern, as the socialite took on Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, using her as a case in reference while taking a swipe at women who endure domestic violence for whatever reason.

Gbedu magazine unfolds that the diva who expressed her disappointment with Mercy for claiming to be domestically abused for close to ten years queried why the embattled actress would have to put up with all that. She also used the opportunity to trash those using children as an excuse for staying put. Hear her:

No doubt, Huddah’s reaction surely indicates that we shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover as there are certain valid assertions in her posts. The question in this debate she is throwing up against age-long  African tradition is: Is walking away the ultimate solution to domestic violence? Do you think she was being hard on Mercy for staying seven years in hope of a change in the man she says she loved? Or do you think Mercy stayed because of the financial benefits (recall that her husband claims to have made a deposit of 8million to a car dealer to purchase a range rover SUV for her to make her happy). Was Mercy putting up for all of that?

Irrespective of any other impression we must have had of Huddah, her posts have raised enough questions for us to ask you to join the conversation on domestic and the way forward for women. Her lifestyle may not make sense on many fronts but her take on this one does.
