First Black Woman to Win Individual Olympic Gold Medal: Simone Manuel Grab Medal in Swimming

 American Swimmer, Simone Manuel made history on Thursday in the women’s 100 meter freestyle as she became the first black woman to win a gold medal in an individual Olympic swimming event, tying with Canadian Penny Oleksiak.
 Gbedu magazine reveals the 20-year-old Stanford University student also set an Olympic record time of 52.70.
Consequently, Simone couldn’t fight back the tears when she realised she had gotten a gold medal.
