Federal Government fulfils 24 years promise to Bonfere Joe

The Federal Government of Nigeria has presented a three bedrooms bungalow to a former Super Eagle Assistant Coach, Mr Bonfrere Joe, twenty four years after winning the nation’s cup for the country in 1994.

Mr Bonfrere who was an assistant coach to the then Clement Westerholf in 1994 was presented with one of the prototype federal government housing located at Kuje road in Gwagwalada area council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja by the minister of Power Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola

Represented by the Director of Public Building, Dickinson Onoja, Mr Fashola said the gift was in fulfilment of the promised made to the assistant coach by the then military head of state, late General Sani Abacha for his contribution towards the success of the 1994 team captained by the late Stephen Keshi.

Mr Bonfrere aside his contribution to the Super Eagle to winning the 94 nation’s cup in Tunisia led the nation’s football team to win its first ever Olympic cup in Atlanta 96, in United States of America.
