Nigeria’s Nollywood has been thrown into another round of mourning as wife of veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, Henrietta aka Omolade has died in Lagos; this is coming a year after the actress survived a near-fatal accident along Sagamu-Abeokuta road.
Gbedu magazine reveals, the Delta-born actress, according to her younger brother who is identified as Krivosa, died few hours ago at R-Jolad Hospital, Gbagada, Lagos; he said Henrietta was ill for a while and had been on admission for two days before she gave up the ghost.
‘Mummy has been ill for a while. She’s diabetic and she’s been battling the ailment for sometime. She was admitted at the R-Jolad Hospital two days ago, and we all thought she’ll be fine, only for us to get a call from the hospital a few hours ago that she passed on,’ Krivosa said.
Late Henrietta who clocked 52 on May 30, 2016 rose to prominence after playing the lead role in Omolade (which later became her nickname), a blockbuster produced by Jide kosoko, but was once reported to have parted ways with Jide Kosoko, a rumour she openly denied.
However, Henrietta was married to one Mr. Olowu, with whom she had a set of twins- Taiwo and Kehinde Olowu, before becoming the second wife of ex-ANTP president Jide Kosoko; and Taiwo Olowu is a rising pop act popularly known as LT, while his twin brother is a producer.
This year alone, no fewer than five Nollywood actors have died. They include Sikiru Adeshina aka Arakangudu, Fatai Onibuade, Mike Odachi, Genevieve Nene, Fred Eketa and others.
